Severe burn to hand, may lose fingers
« on: November 12, 2015, 12:23:00 PM »
Received a cryogenic burn yesterday while working on a PC.  I can't feel my left hand, and hit it with enough aerosol propellant to equal LN2 poured all over my hand.

Today I have a blister so large it has a literal cup of fluid in it and it's going to be at least a month before we get any idea about how bad it really is.  Worst case scenario is I lose the hand, but two fingers is much more likely, and if luck holds it would just be skin grafts.

If you have the stomach for it I have links to the photos:

If you're on FB and want updates, add me and just message me your name on here.  I'll post major updates here, but I'm more likely to give more minor ones there only.

Dude,

You need to STOP doing stuff like this...

Prayers for physical healing and limited pain in the process!

Amen prayers for God's healing and protection
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

It's looking rougher and rougher, headed to doctor tomorrow for advice.  Gonna eat us alive in copays.  Hopefully he will give some better pain relief.

Prayers from me too. I understand burns as I welded for 35 years.

Still praying for a better-then-expected outcome, according to His Will.

Only have had relatively MINOR burns, but used to keep an aloe plant around and was pretty impressed how it kept down blisters from accidental burns.

Of course, how it happened and the extent is way beyond my pay grade, so no clue if aloe would have phased it, but regardless, prayers continue!!!

I'll keep the hand and fingers, but there will be permanent muscle weakness and disfigurement.  It still pops up giant blood blisters but it's finally closed.  Now it's waiting to see how bad it will scar.

I hope that is good news, after what earlier posts implied. Praying for restoration and relief.

I'm gonna send em' your way.

I work with refrigerants and know some about freeze burns.  So get well and do exactly what the doctor's tell you.  Technology has come a long way.
