Namibia KE Laws???

Looking at going in 2011, and lookin at taking my trad gear this time around. Am looking at some info on Namibia, and it's telling me that minimum KE to legally shoot Kudu, Gemsbok, hartebeest, etc is 65ft/lbs?? I was plugging in the #'s and I can't figure out how you can get that much out of a recurve or longbow without pulling my arm out of socket. Those of you who have been, how is this rule applied - does it still stand?

Hmmmmm... It was never even mentioned when I was there??? I'm shooting around 53 ft/lb & had no problems with anything I shot.

Most hunting ranch in Namibia will not even question your KE. My bow was only 57# (>40 ft/Lb) but more than adequate for the many African game species that I have harvested. The lady boss was using 40# bow and dropped Kudu, warthog, etc - single arrow kill each time.

Don't think about it twice.  Just not an issue from my experience.  Shoot the heaviest bow that you are comfortable with.  After that, shot placement is the key as has been repeatedly stressed everywhere.  Just study the anatomy and get comfortable with the fact that the hearts are over the front leg.  After that you will do just fine
