I do have a few more pics, although I did more video this hunt
Than still pics. I used a Morrison ILF Recurve 55# @ my 29" draw. Same bow I used last trip, it's 60" which is good for most of the blinds, although 58" would have worked better in some cases. I carried a 62" Lee Recurve, but could only use it in a few of the elevated blinds.
I used two arrow set up's, first Victory 350 shafts with 100 grain brass inserts, Broadhead, Aboyer wapiti with 125gr. BH adaptor total weight 300 gr., giving a total arrow weight of 640gr. Second arrow was an Eastman Traditional 320 shaft same set-up, total weight 720gr. Both arrows had 3 - 4" low profile banana feathers, great arrow flight, really high FOC, and Momentum figures.
Ben,the Giraffe weighed an estimated 1800 lbs., hide weighed 400# alone. Antonie showed me several pics of where to hit him, much higher and forward of a normal plains game animal. He said if you hit him there, he will go down in sight, if you don't its a long tracking job. He was right, watched him go down about 125 yds.
Here are a few pics of the action.
