?? about tiller: 3-under vs. split finger

The crux of my question is this: All other things be equal, how is a bow tillered for 3-under different from one tillered for split-finger?

I've been a split-finger shooter since birth, but recently I have been experimenting with shooting 3-under and so far I like the results. When shooting 3-under I can use my middle finger in the corner of my mouth as a primary anchor and my arrow's fletching on the tip of my nose acts as a secondary anchor. This works much like using a clicker without the hassles of a clicker attached to your bow limb.

My question is in regard to tiller. All of my bows are tillered for split finger. However, they seem to shoot fine using 3-under with no noticeable change in bow noise, overall performance, or arrow flight. So, is there any issue shooting 3-under on a bow tillered for split finger? Will it damage the bow or reduce efficiency in any way?

I should add that when shooting 3-under, most of the bow's draw weight is on my index and middle fingers very near the arrow's nocking point. My bows are mostly 3-piece TD longbows and one-piece longbows.

3 under is tillered even, where as split is tillered 1/4" more on the top limb... if I read other posts right.

You should be able to shoot any bow tillered for split finger,three under no problem.All you need to do is raise the nocking point higher.

There might be an extremly short bow being drawn very far that is close to blowing apart already that could be stressed too much on the lower limb with a three under release.That is just a theory and I have never seen any bow have a problem with three under.

It is some benefit to have a bow tillered even when shooting three under.The bow will be a little smoother and not as loud.In some cases it will be easier to bare shaft tune.

Nyron, all the bowyers I talk to have told me there isn't a big difference.  So little that some don't even worry about it.... If everything comes out to 1/4 or 1/8  they are settled!  

That being said, if I were ordering a bow, I'd have it tillered 3 under.. Just for sanity sake.
