When I was growing up my uncle always gave me isotoner gloves. Not even decent hunting or kid's gloves! So its always been my goal to make sure I was "the coolest uncle on the planet". In August I gave my nephew my old red plastic bear recurve bow for his eleventh Birthday. He loved it and we try to shoot whenever I'm home. My bro in law is really cool, but he's on the road alot and he and my sis don't live in an area where the can shoot in the yard. So I make sure my nephew brings his bow over to my parents' whenever I'm in town. Anyway, he only had two arrows, and whenever we went shooting I'd always mention how he needs more arrows and a quiver. SO I picked them up for him for Christmas. Now we've been shooting over the last few days before christmas. He loves it. I ask him if he wants to go out and play and he says, "no thanks." Then I mention that we can shoot our bows and out the door we go! On christmas eve we were out shooting and he asked me if there were any stores in the area that sold arrows! And this morning when he opened his box and there was a youth quiver full of arrows I got the best reaction any uncle could want. He just said, "Yes!" and wore the quiver while he opened his other presents. I think I've got the kid hooked! I'm trying to convince myself I have the energy to handle him for a few days at denton hill this summer. I think he'd love it.
