Has Anyone used a Nimrod Hunting Pack?

Well my trusty hunting pack of almost 15 years has about gotten to the point of being a treasured memory.  While looking around for a new pack I came across Nimrod Pack Systems out of Washington or Oregon.  Has anyone used or seen these packs?

I have one of the large fanny packs with the black game bag. They are built really well and have lots of orginizing pockets. I switch off and on with my Bison gear pack. I don't know what you want to use it for? But the Nimrod has lots of options you can upgrade to. You can't go wrong with one they will last forever.

Yes, I've used one for about 6 years now. Great packs! I like to do a lot of over night pack in trips. I like their system because it is versitile enough that I'm able to drop the main black bag to make camp then just grab the fanny pack and hunt and not have to "Switch" packs. Last year I discovered that something had eaten a hole in my pack 1 week before opening day. I called them and told them my situation. I sent them the pack and the nextday aired it back to me at no extra charge. They even upgraded some of my straps for free. Its a great product backed up by great customer service.

Nimrod Capitalized is a descendant of Ham represented in Genesis as a mighty hunter and a king of Shinar.

Not capitalized it means hunter.

Slang meaning is of no value here.

One of the biggest and best fanny packs though it bounces a little. The whole system- lower plus upper- is over rated. OK if you are carrying clothing but over 35# and the system sags badly.

I have a Nimrod fire pack, it's basically a heavy, higher volume hip pack with shoulder suspension. Very similiar to the packs I used back in my USFS Hotshot days. Great pack, can get enough gear in it to spend a night if need be and carries well with good suspension. But it is heavy and noisy. It's built out of heavy cordura and I'm not a big fan of a zippered main compartment. Not sure about their hunting packs. I did recently get a Wilderness Pack Specialties large hip pack that is very similiar to the Nimrod but has a draw string - compression main compartment. It's a lighter pack, cheaper and quiter due to the exterior fabric and no zipper. Good suspension and it carries well, just wish it had a few pockets sewn on the inside to separate out small gear.

I am a 3 year user of Nimrod. I use it for Elk hunts and it has made 2 trips to Alsaka. IMO the belt and shoulder straps are second to none and I have owned many packs. In Alaska this year it rained almost three straight weeks, although I was able to dry the pack almost every night the contents never got wet, not once. The fleece is also very quiet.

That said the upper bag is a little wide for my liking and could be solved with some compression straps.

It will be my go too pack for the for sometime.

I am looking at the Pinnicle Day Pack N-125.  Will use it primarly for elkhunting.  They look like they would be hard to beat.

Add the Wilderness Bag (aka black bag) to that and you can carry your camping gear or meat. At camp, the black bag can be detached then folded up and carried in the day pack, then re-attached if needed to pack out some meat.

Tim I've got a Pinnacle. Great pack for day or day+ use. I've not used their bigger packs since I'm happy with my Kifaru MMR for big/heavy loads.

Nimrod's customer service is outstanding.
