cane/bamboo
« on: December 27, 2007, 01:45:00 PM »
went out looking for some rivercane. Not sure what I found but it appears to be 2 different kinds, from 2 different areas. One was 20 ft. tall,3-4 in. diameter. Had 1, what I would call flat side. I'm assuming this was bamboo? Nice stuff, but doesn't seem like arrow making material. Unless you want one flat sided , big ol' arra!

The other stuff was 4-5 ft. tall, was fairly round, diameter 1/8" to 1/2", or so. Is this rivercane? And is this the kind you want to make arrows from?

I think the bamboo I found was just BIG. Smallest was maybe 1/2"-1". Seemed awful fat for arrows? Any input is appreciated.
