Here is another Huntsman Axe I just finished up. This new design is more woods/hunter oriented.
The steel is my all time favorite steel for toughness and crazy sharpness, L6. The size, to me, is just right to strap to your pack for hiking, hunting or camping. It is compact, yet plenty big enough to get real work done. These things are razor sharp and ready for work.
I spring temper the tangs on these for extra durability.
The three flared tubes offer a number of options for lanyards.
I gave this one sort of a bamboo texture on the grip and also antiqued the flared copper tubes.
