So combining Killdeer's and your suggestions I would want to get as close as possible to my subject, keep as much "space between my subject and the background as possible, and increase my focal length. I always assumed that the 38-380 is the focal length. If so, do I want to be in telephoto or is that one of those quirky fractions like f/ and speed??? Hutch and Weasel, I read that book. The only book I have ever read about photography! I will have to go back and look up that chapter, can't recall that point he made. I really liked the chapter on "creative correct" exposures.
