Any one know anything about New York Institute of Photography. I've seen the ad in a couple of mags.

Was wondering if the school is legitimate.

They've been around for decades, but I don't know of anyone who has taken their course.

I took the course about 5 years ago. IMO its worth the money, if you make yourself do the assignments. NYIP is the oldest photograohy school in the country. You used to have to study there, but now are a correspondance course. You can send for the info, and check it out yourself that costs nothing. You can go to  www.popphoto.com  and do a search on NYIP, there have been many discussions of this, and almost all have been favorable.

Hutch, I went through the program a couple of years ago. You'll enjoy it very much and you will definately learn a thing or two. Do a search on google and you can find message boards from current and former students. The best part is that you can take your time and do it at your own pace. It's a pretty good deal for everything you get. The videos are hokey though!
