Going hunting but need camera(s)
« on: February 22, 2009, 11:36:00 AM »
I am hoping to go on a hunting trip this fall. But im not sure I am going to have the money to actually buy a tag but my friends are going anyway. Im thinking I can probably afford to go along to at least film it..Im thinking maybe video and pictures but wont have a ton of money. I know you get what you pay for but I also know that there is a line where you can get pretty decent stuff for cheaper.. Just looking for some suggestions. camera and video camera wise..thanks

Budog,

For still photograph, nothing beats Nikon cameras and lenses.  They aren't inexpensive, but they're great.  There's a guy named Ken Allaman over on the "Bino and Spotting Scopes" classifieds that has a Nikon F5 for sale.  I just bought a big Nikon lens from him and he was great to deal with.  He'd also be a great resource if you want to talk wildlife photography.
