Well, am back on Guam after a month of fun. If one were to judge my season by the amount of game taken it would be sad indeed, but from the standpoint of internet friendships solidified with in person hand shakes and hunting then it was very successful, which is the way I grade it.
I had two hunts, one in South Texas and one in far West Texas and though I had opportunities at both hunts for deer, javi and hogs, things just did not work out. But I ate some great food, shared even greater stories and camp with some of the finest people on this earth. I did connect on some bunnies a couple of quail and a turkey which due to the fact I did not want to mess my hunting area up because I was hunting a huge 12 point,I let the turkey lie until my evening hunt as he was in the thick South Texas brush and about 4:30 pm the yotes got him. The 12 never showed himself again either but it was still a great hunt and I did kill my first turkey with a bow and my first quail.
I cemented friendships for a lifetime and will share their campfires again.
Only regret is I caught some nasty bug prior to leaving so have been very ill for the past few days.
Did not get to hunt with my bro as much as I wanted to and it will be a long two years before I can go again as I have to build my leave up again.
But all in all a very fullfilling time sharing the Traditional Archery campfire.
