Many of you have heard the news about David Mimms. A fellow bowyer that has been battling cancer. This is happened last week but thought I would post it here because the picture has inspired many that have seen it.
Yesterday afternoon, I went on a prayer hike, or "Walk About" as Lulyn would call them. She knows, that it is where I go to recharge and spend some go quality prayer time. I went to one of my favorite spots down by the river and had been praying for a friend that is very near death. He's been in a battle with cancer for 4 years now and time is short. He conveyed his goodbye's, and concerns for his family after he is gone from this life and is taken to be with the Lord. I searched and prayed for the words of inspiration, and was moved to take my camera on the hike. As I reached the top of a small knoll I noticed these two trees leaning on one another.
As I gazed upon this monarch, my mind raced with all it had been through in it's time. I couldn't help but to notice, that as they had grown, they had weathered many storms of life together. Surely they had helped each other stand, as the winds blew strong. Even spending, many cold winter nights together, waiting out the snow, in exchange for the warmth of Spring time.
While they both wear the battle scars of the years, they are still, Standing Together. David has touched many lives and the seeds he has sown will endure as will his life in the house of the Lord.
This next picture moved my heart to tears when I first saw it on the monitor. I took the picture with the thought of capturing the "Still Waters" As The scripture Psalm 23 kept racing through my thoughts. All I saw when taking the picture was the incredible still waters. It wasn't until I downloaded them to the computer, that I saw the sideways image of a tree laying on it's side, caused only by the shadows. "Laying beside still waters" I know that David is at this point in life. A battle scarred monarch that has been poured out and now ready to lay down beside green pastures, and being led beside still waters. Just as the Lord had quikened this vs. while takeing the picture.
Ps. 23 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil,my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Sometimes the finger print of the Lord is right in front of us and all we have to do is notice! God even used the shadows to illustrate that he is there, as according to his plan and timing. God Is Good! Keenan
