Titebond 3 and Heat? Answered!

I want to correct a sideways bend and set the handle back on a hickory recurve that is currently in the works.  The riser was glued on with titebond 3.  Will steaming or dry head disbond this joint?

No, Provided you use some care in heating it. I'd favor steaming since it is easyto scorch both wood an dglue with dry heat9but if you still have lots of material to remove the scorching won't matter.

I tested this out last night on a sample piece.  Once heated if all the pressure points are not directly on the riser then the glue joint will seperate.  IF, thought, the clamp and the blocks all squeeze on the riser collectively then the bond will stay.
