Bobcat as table fare?

When I was trapping in northern Ontario, my quota was 5 lynx, I can tell you with all certainty that they are all white meat and very very tasty.....believe it or not, somewhat similar to frogs legs. we would debone it and cut it in 1"-1-1/2" cubes the roll it in bread crumbs and fry in butter. Hard to beat in the taste category.

Sergio, you've tried them at the wildlife suppers at the club, Louise and I would always bring a bunch and it was always the first to go.

I have a book with 5 recipes for Lynx and one for Cougar.  Lynx or Bobcat, I wouldn't think there would be much difference in taste.  He describes Lynx  as a lily white meat entirely non gamy, delicately delicious.  The book is, Cooing venison and other natural meats, by Bradford Angier,  1975.

Sad the say th old Mansfield auction barn s closed.  I don't live too far from Zwolle in a small comunity called Hunter, not far from Cicle drive and Public landing on Toledo Bend.

Have never eaten Bobcat, but I ate all of my mt. lion.  Was really good - the wife would not eat it- that much more for me.  A light meat, like pork.  My lion (tom) missed the book by 1/8".

I fried up some dall sheep and mountain lion back straps at deer camp this year for the guys. It was a close call but the lion won out in the taste test over the sheep.
