It is Guru, its all about unmolested deer, food and  and nothing else. Good luck with the ones you have gotten on your trail cams.

Mark....the whole Elmer thing is a soap opera in itself.  You'll see pics of Elmer...and you'll see video of Elmer on an upcoming high end bowhunting video, but you won't see any pics of TJ w/ Elmer.  Funny how antler can sometimes blur a persons decisions.

Yotekillrr....TJ and I are heading out on the 16th back home the 28th.  Can't wait.

Hey guys, another KY boy makes meat! I shot a 115lb doe at 8:05 this am. 3 does came in under my stand, grazing on the edge of a field, I hit her at 22yds, between the 4th and 5th rib, RH side quatering away, stopped in the off shoulder, but not before putting a big hole in the shoulder blade, tip sticking through the skin. I was shooting a 1976 BW HS1226, Alum.handle, 60" #46@28, Vapor 2000, Chartreuse wraps and 4" parabolics, wensel woodsman. She took of, made it about 40 yds and wheeled into a sink hole and crashed, never got out of site. The flourescent wrap and feathers on the end of the shaft sticking out looked like a traffic officer waving a wand in little circles in the early morning sunlight. This was the first shot I have had since the season opened, wife missed one on Sunday evening, right over its back. I have seen 23 deer since this weekend hunting, all have been too far away or right behind me in some thick stuff. Last night saw several deer, wind really rough here, switching back and forth, deer really spooky. A 8 point came in to my blind, 8yds, and just as he stopped some birds blew out of a bush and spooked him, he blew out of there like he was on fire. His rack was weird, 6-7inch spikes sticking out of the bases, one drop tine, all different directions. A buddy killed one on my property last year that looked similar to this, but was an old buck, weighed 180 field dressed in gun season. he also had a broken leg that had healed back straight and stiff. I wonder if he has passed these genetics on? Well, Im on vacation till the 16th, got to finish mowing, take a shower and go hunting toingh, thought I would chime in.

Way to go Murph! I got my second deer today, a 130# 4 point, by his teeth a little over 2 years old. He was one I was wanting out of the herd, had 3 spikes coming out of one base, a spike on the other side. He came in at 7:10,crossed the field and stopped 10yds in front of my ground blind. There is a monster white oak right over the blind and its droppin'em like rain. After he got to eating good, I waited till he gave me a good rib shot, double lung, took a rib out on each side with the Wensel Woodsman, he took off across the field running, and as I watched through my binocs youcould see a stream of blood like your finger pouring out of him. 120yd recovery.A friend of mine gun hunting with me last year killed one  with the same exact rack, just a little bigger, 5-6 year old deer, 180# field dressed. I have some good genetics around here and some really poor ones too, as horns go.
A lot of my buddies said they wouldnt shoot or waste a buck tag on a buck that small, I told them I am hunting for fun and freezer, no more rack hunting for me, seems too take some of the fun out of it. Dont get me wrong, done my share of it, have 2 P&Y, but since going trad, have had the most fun in a Looooonnng time!By the way Murph, ran into your brother today in the local gunshop/archery shop that I used to run, we were talking about you. Pm me back, let me know how you like that Dryad your shooting. Sam.
