Never hunted turkeys but cooked lots - I think you don't get a pass through cause they are solid MEAT.
With most game they are hollow in the middle with resistance (very little on both sides if they are broadside).
Just from the videos and the info provided on this site I think they might very well be the toughest thing to kill with a bow.
If you get an arrow in them I have seen ppl busting out of their cover to get it while it's flapping around...I guess it's so they don't get to flying away.
When we were on the farm the way we killed them and the geese (after many years of getting beat up) I used a grass whip - I would sharped them up and get someone to run them past the roost and I would swing like a golfer...poof off with their heads....they would run up against the fence and it was over.
