What is ILF?

I see this in field archery limbs and now Morrison is offering it. 197fps at 9 grains per inch WOW!
What is the disadvantage?

I think it stands for International Limb Fitting...  Havent heard of any disadvantages

ILF simply stands for international limb fitting.
It is a mounting system to attach different length and weight limbs on different target risers.The limb has a slot in the end and a sort of button a little way up the limb.The riser has a dove tail slot that the button slides in and the limb slot fits on an adjustable bolt nearly like a regular 3 piece.

the limbs can be removed without tools and the tiller and angle the limbs sit is adjusted by the bolt.Tighten a little and the angle increases and adds a little weight.

No disavantage I can think of but IMHO a lot of advantage.

ILF is a mounting system, and has nothing to do with performance. That is up to the limb maker.
The big advantage is you do not need to have limbs from the same manufacturer as the riser.
 I just started shooting a couple LAS  ILF bows. The Titan and the Pinacle.They come with LAS /Samick limbs,but any other limb made for the ILF system will fit.
Win & Win,Hoyt,Border,Morrison,KAP ETC.You can have low end cheap limbs,the finest Olympic limbs , or custom limbs .
The ILF system allows for precise tuning and limb alignment.Tiller is adjustable and draw weight is slightly adjustable.
 You can set the bow up for optimal performance based on your draw length and where the bow starts to stack .
 So far I have not found anything I do not like about this system and lots that I do like.

I'll tell you what's wrong with em - at close to 200 fps you can hardly see the arrow fly and it gets to the critter before he has a fair chance to jump the string. Other than that, almost nothing.

The olympic ILF limbs will shoot lighter arrows without damaging the limbs. I shot a set of Sky Conquest,(Earl Hoyt), limbs that shot around 200 fps w/ 375 gr carbons. These limbs were around 47#s on the "warfed" riser I was using. There is nothing miraculous about these limbs, the faster speed is largely due to shooting lighter arrows.
  I have nothing against the ILF system, as stated earlier it is handy to have limbs that will universally fit risers of different makes. After playing around with the ILF stuff for a year or so I went back to the regular bows, just my preference.

Now I see  ceramic carbon  limbs used with ILF risers and go to "limbs" at this website and look at the double recurve limbs.

Yeah, those double recurve limbs have been out a while now, but the ones I was impressed with when I was shooting target, was the Synergy limbs with a curved cross section. Boy were those things fast.

ILF's are small, brightly dressed, cheerful little people who make take down limbs for all the high-end custom bowyers.  Bob Morrison has seen them, but he won't admit it.

ILF is just another way to go. With an ILF riser you can buy limbs new from $125 to $1000. I have seen $200 limbs rival a lot of custom limbs built today. I only know of 2 brands of longbow limbs for them and we have one. I personal really like being able to adjust poundage and tiller. Maybe not as Trad as a 1 pcs longbow, but definitely a top end shooting 3 pcs bow. Bob
