So far those better ways have done no good. Do a little reading on the history of this "judge". Perhaps a wake-up call like this is what was needed to bring her to the attention of a wider group of people so something can be done about her. To sit silently by when such injustice is perpetrated is not  a course of action but a surrender. Also the analogy of a murderer to this isn't very fitting in scale.

that doesn't mean she can lock somebody up for their opinion, which she asked for

While I have no quarrel with the idea that we do not need activist judges or whack jobs running our legal system, there's still a matter of respect, good or bad, for the "OFFICE"...even if the judge doesn't respect the office she holds, we MUST respect it.

She runs the courtroom till she is removed from office, right or wrong. Do you honestly think that this film appearing on YouTube is going to be responsible for her being removed from the bench? Let's be real...she didn't do anything wrong. The brother of the perpetrator did something disrespectful to the authority of the court and he got his butt called on it...I am with John Scifres on this one.

If someone had done what this fellow did to a conservative judge that WE liked, he would have had the same thing done to him and we wouldnt be here talking about it. Its apparent to me that there was more to this than meets the eye, the judge knew who that guy was and why he did what he did, in my opinion.

Get her for the REAL stuff she has done wrong, get her for MAKING law instead of interpreting it, but don't try to tell me that this judge wasn't in the right for calling this clown on the carpet for being disrespectful to THE COURT by huffing his little butt out of the room when he THOUGHT she was doing something he didn't THINK he was going to like.

The cuffs weren't brought out until she asked him why he left the courtroom and she didn't like his answer. This little film made people aware of someone they might not have been made aware of otherwise. This "judge" has made several indiscretions and been reprimanded in the past. She was caught having dinner with a defense lawyer from a case she was sitting on the bench for during the trial! Yet she remains on the bench. Seems the system isn't working and sometimes civil disobedience is called for. Seems that our very country was built on such to me. She may or may not have been reclusing herself originally, that is what she said after the little show. Taking her word for something doesn't seem all that reliable from her past record.

I REALLY can't believe that you people are making such a big deal about this!!!!!

The defendant in this case was being charged with helping move a deer that had been POACHED!!!!! There-by making him an accessory to the offense and making all of them CRIMINALS!!!!!

They are NOT hunters!!!!!

The judge in question should NOT be letting her personal feelings influance the way that she handles her cases in court, HOWEVER..... This is the REAL world and right or wrong that is going to happen.

This is why the U.S. Constitution guarenties us the right to a trial by a JURY of our peers. The judge may preside over the case but the JURY determines guilt or innocense.

I'm with Ray on the recusle isssue....she was too long winded and so forth but had the fellow she locked up just stayed cool and calm she would have been off the case. What happened afterward had nothing to do with hunting, pe se as I see it, she just doesn't know how to run a court room. She needs another day job and the fellow was not handled at all in a manner I would expect from a judge. Where does Bill Riley stand on this one?

You are right,He was not the poacher.....

The poacher called this man's brother to help him move a poached deer.

This man apparently displeased at the treatment his brother got, voiced his displeasure as he was exiting the courtroom.

For this.....he was called back, chastized, and locked up

There is an old saying.....Birds of a feather,Flock together.....

If you HELP a poacher,You are the same as a poacher. If you condone poaching, you are the same as a poacher.

REMEMBER!!!!! You are judged by the company you keep!!!!!

The fellow sighed leaving the courtroom after the judge went on a tirade about killing deer and the cruelty of it in her opinion. He never said a word until she had him returned and asked him why he left, she didn't like his answer and had him cuffed, pushed him further and then had him jailed. I've been in many courtrooms over the years in one capacity or another(never as defendant), that was handled extremely poorly.

The poacher's helper got his fine and loss of license for two years from another judge.

Also don't be so quick to judge a man by his brother or other blood. I know to many good men with very felonious relatives to ever throw someone in the same light without knowing them.

I'm from Utah and this judge was on the local news last night. I guess this story is on hunting forums all over the web. Well someone posted that this judge needs to be shot and she found out about it. Now the law is considering that as a death threat and the internet crimes division of the FBI is involved. Maybe with all the mess this is making people will notice her past and vote her out. Mike

When I worked as a police officer we had a joke about how assaulting a police officer is a plea bargain offence but if you dissagree with the judge you get 6 months. Guess it wasn't a joke.

While I agree with respect for the office, I think this woman has gone beyond the realm of her possition and no longer deserves that respect. The courtroom is still no place for antics of any kind. Niether the brothers or the judges behavior were approppriate in this case.  Justin

I called this nutcase on the phone and left a strong but polite message about her partiality. At the end I told her she needs to step down from the bench.
