I was fishing in Medicine Bow this past weekend. Bow season was open for deer and there were plenty of road hunters. I saw a couple guys in a tepee (thinking they may be traditional shooters) and stopped by soot the breeze. They were not traditional by any sense of the word. Here are a few of their comments that make me sad that don't understand the enjoyment of the hunt and are simply going through the motions.
"This bow is so fast, I can’t even see the arrow fly!"
"I drove through the campground and saw him. I got out of the truck to start my stalk but the kids playing in the next site wouldn’t be quiet!"
"The bow rack on my 4 wheeler can hold an arrow separate so I can get the shot off quicker."
"This new silencer on my 4 wheeler let me drive within shooting range. About 80 yards."
I've never been an anti-compound guy. To each, his own. But regardless of that you shoot, it's getting harder and harder to find people who share our values.
Thanks for letting me vent.
