Look out NJ
« on: January 11, 2008, 07:31:00 PM »
I have a friend who is an aid in state Govt. in NJ. He tells me in good faith that Corzine is working on legislature to end all hunting in NJ. Has any one else heard this? NJ currently has some very good seasons and bag limits for many game. This needs to be nipped in the bud if true.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

With the sad state of goverment affairs here in NJ I don't see what he would gain by killing another industry in this state.  Whether some people like it or not hunting dollars are real and so are the taxes the sales bring in, which this state so much needs.

The state has much to loose and nothing to gain from a hunting ban, really makes no sense at all.

I would seriously have to question the source's source if you know what I mean.

Follow the money to is filling Corzine's coffers and you'll see what is to be gained. Think he gives a care about the rest of it?

Normally I would say that I would doubt that very much. Hunting generates a lot of revenue for the state and there are too many deer. The state is in financial trouble and they are looking to sell state assests like the toll roads for a quick influx of cash. The only way they can afford to do that would be to sell the state game lands to developers. I wouldn't put that past them. If they don't have the ability to sell the state game lands to a developer, than you can bet that the license and permit fees are going to go UP to generate more income. I think we will also see an increase in the amount of permits we have to buy, like the extra buck tag for the for the extended season.

What I'd like to say about our fine Govenor Corzine can't be printed in a public forum where children may read it.Scum like him would sell their Mother's false teeth just to raise a buck to get elected. I'd like to take him on one of our winter bow outtings up in Sussex, make him push deer all day for us and leave him to fend for himself out in the middle of Bear Ally!

I agree with MikeC, NJ has too much to lose from a hunting ban, and I would seriously question the source's source  as well.
PS: hearing today's news about the Gov's proposed tolls raise (TPike would come up to a whoppin'$45 one-way in 8 years!!)sounds like the State needs serious money

A lot of states need serious money but few have the guts to address the issue. Either cut spending or raise taxes. Nobody is ever happy with the real choices so we usually get a smoke screen instead.

I dislike Corzine for what he did to Waterloo Village and state workers but I don't dislike him for trying to fix the budget problem.

Remember guys, Corzine is very opposed to the bear hunt. I understand the money angle, but you must think about how the bleeding hearts of animal lovers seem to cloud sensible thinking. He also doesn't think much of gun owners and with out hunting, it is a big hit for disarming America.

Jerry...Ain't gonna happen in our lifetime.  NJ may be a small state but we have a ton of hunters in state and a ton that hunt from out of state and plenty of small to medium size business that are hunter based, plus Cabelas is building a mega store in the Meadowlands which will employee hundreds of people in the state in one form or another.

Corzine is just one man...period.  Nothing more and nothing less.  I also think you give the BH animal lovers more clout then they really have or deserve.  Corzine is opposed to the bear hunt only because it's so controversial and he doesn't need the grief not opossing it knowing he was working on his "super secret scheme".

With regards to the budget and him trying to fix it.
Cowards approach if you ask me.  Tax the middle class, because that is who primarily use the toll roads.  He needs to stop the corruption, cut spending and waste and get the state workers on a 401K plan like everyone else.  Why should I and my children and their children pay for state workers pensions.

They are on the bandwagon again. Our wonderful state senator Ernie Chambers, has introduced a simliar bill in the Nebraska legislature. This guy has way too much free time in order to squander it on something this absurd. I'm sure he has his backers.

Yea, forgot about the Cabela's thing. Well I didn't mean to sound like    :scared:  WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!!!  But we need to be aware of the fact that "they" are always against us..

this all involves money.
I think we should all work together to put PETA out of business. Why is it they can work behind the scenes in so many places; and yet we act impotent when it comes to their killing of pets ? Seems like now is the time to hit them; and if they are exposed for the people that they are; then their affiliation with other causes would weaken them.
NJ might have a governor that is getting benefits from PETA; and if PETA falls; he might just not want to be associated with them- and back off his antihunting actions.
Seems like PETA is in a very bad situation with the pet killings; and that we are not doing what we should; or perhaps HAVE to do RIGHT NOW.
I saw one and only one television report on PETAs death vans; and that is NOT enough. Everyone that supports them should be notified by PETA that they did what they did.
I realise that would have to be part of a court settlement; but so what? Isn't that what we are supposed to be doing if we claim in anyway to be standing against them for their horrid actions?
Do you know what they were doing? Can you support it? Why would their supporters not condemn them for it?
They are on the ropes; lets keep them there.
