More than one glove?
« on: February 02, 2007, 07:45:00 AM »
Do ya'll keep a glove or tab for hunting and another for practice? I would think a leather glove would hold a lot of scent. I keep more than one release for my compound and think I should keep a spare glove around. I would hate to get busted due to a smelly 'ol glove.

I have 3 gloves right now,all Damascus, all the same size.

Don't really have them because of scent issues, mainly because I wanted a spare in case I lost my one and only, then decided 2 spares,or maybe a loner might be even better.

I shoot with all 3 just so they're all broken in good.....

I have three American Leather gloves; two Big Shots and an older Slick Shot I swapped for.

I do most of my shooting with one of the Big Shots.  The second is backup, but I leave it down in my shop and use it when I'm working on bows.

The Slick Shot will be a third backup/bowfishing glove...

I have a couple older gloves, but have used a Big Shot only for the past year. I've usually had two identical gloves: one to keep in my hunting coat or pack, and one where I practice. S'pose I should get a spare Big Shot.

Not at all concerned about human scent associated with a glove while hunting.

I usually have two back-ups.  I alternately shoot all three gloves throughout the non-hunting season to break all of them in equally.  Bigshot is my glove of choice, and it does take some breaking in.  Scent isn't an issue.  Any animal that smells my glove is also going to get a strong whiff of me and whatever else I'm wearing.

I've got just about everything made because of my quest for shooting excellence (hitting the broadside of a barn at 10 yards).  I've pretty well settled on a tab with the felt finger separater (split finger shooting) because, with it, I now hit the barn.
