Sign At Bas Pro Shop

I saw this sign at Bass Pro Shops in Spring Field MO.

For a business that sells to sportsmen it bothered me a bit.

Hey Dude,
I see no problem with the sign. It pretty much just says that they don't support guys out there killin things to put in  museums. Go to a game farm if that is what you are after. Bottom line is that these are MAGNIFICENT treasures!!!

I read it really quick the first time.  I thought the sign said that fishers and hunters no longer have have a place for these magnificent creatures.  I read it again and completely understood it.  Doesn't bother me in the least.

I see nothing wrong with it. In fact, I am in total agreement with this part: "We do not advocate the taking of fish & game solely for the purpose of museum displays."

I do not advocate the taking of fish & game SOLELY for the purpose of museum displays either.

However I hunt, kill, eat and mount animals.  I do not have any sign in my house apologizing or explaining my reasons of the fact.

You would think that sportsman that enter Bass Pro understand the ethics involved.

Anti-hunters are not going to be made happy sign or no sign.

I just felt like it was a feeble attempt on Bass Pro's part to  be politically correct in a place where that they should not have any explaining to do.

On another note I was there several years back after they purchased Fred Bear's Museum but they did not have anything displayed yet.  I went back this year and it was closed for remodeling.  :banghead:

I don't think the sign is there for the hunters or the antis.

If Bass Pro Shops by you is anything like Cabelas here, then there are more non-hunters than hunters in the store at just about any given time.
