Supposably, a formal drafted proposed amendment to adopt and embrace crossbows will be read on the afternoon of Aug 16 at the OBA State Shoot / Rendevouz at the Claylick Bowhunters in Newark, Ohio - that members will vote on it at a later date.

Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx much,

Hi Z....

Yep, we will try to be there.  Now I'm just trying to find directions to the range!  I emailed Wilma and she didn't have an address or any info.  We have some time so hopefully someone will be able to help before the 16th.

Z, I went and read the thread on the OB site and it's disturbing. Im afraid one might encounter the same type of shortsightedness(Im being kind) on the subject at any of a number of state organizations.

The problem as I see it is that there are good and not so good aspects to the state bowhunting orgs. Its great that bowhunters of all stripes get together to support our sport. It's not so great that not ALL bowhunters have as deep a connection to bowhunting as a lifestyle as trads do.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the majority... compounders... are less apt to see xbows in archery seasons for what it is. And they dont realize that they're being snookered by the xbow manufacturers who ARE the same capitalists who are catering to the gadget crowd.

But hey... It shoots something that looks like an arrow only different. If its legal and you can kill stuff wit it, yeehah!

Goose - Yeah - "12680 Lesley Rd. Newark, Ohio 43056" is the address I found for Claylick too.

See you there

Sad as it sounds, it appears that this is the future.

I am thinking that if we want to remain separate, we have to make a separate organization.  Compton's can use some membership.

or  Just play the game that is on the table and be happy.  It doesn't HAVE to be a bad thing
