nouth carolina archery change I here.

Has anybody heared anything about rifle season starting sept,of 2009-2010 and you will be able to hunt all season with a rifle.

Has not went through yet. Been hearing differant options they are looking at, 2 weeks archery-1 week muzzle-rest of year anything-Jan archery only again is last I heard.

I saw a article in the News& Observer that it has been proposed for next year.It might happen sinse it the Insurance company's that want it done.I sure hope it doesn't!!!

I think there is other ways to go about this.Like maybe let anybody shoot crossbows or something.I just hope they keep the bow season the way it is.

This will go to the public meetings this winter - very important to show up an voice your opinion. If the game commission pushed this through - it will be a disaster. Push for (earn a buck) areas - extra tags for January in urban zones - incentives for towns to allow urban hunting in all their water run off areas. Hunt clubs and Gamelands are already doing well with harvest of deer - allowing rifles for 4 months on private land will only turn gun deer hunting into more of a weekend hobby - and destroy our buck crop - and the rut will diminish - and deer will become more nocturnal.
