floating bow handle section?

have a laminated flat bow nearly tillered out but haven't put a handle section on yet. my dad had an old lemonwood bow and the handle section never stayed on due to flex thru the handle section.
 thinking of gluing a layer of leather between bow and handle to allow for flex. what do you think?
