Jason, it is whatever you choose to send!  Some whale blubber . . .   a set of moose antlers . . .   an ULU . . .  whatever.  Some gifts sent are right on the mark, and some are probably set aside for next year's white elephant.  

The elephant is within sight of 'home' now, so you're in time, but not by much.  It will end when I post my address.
