Can a non-locking 2 bladed folder convert to locking blade
« on: January 18, 2008, 04:09:00 PM »
I have an old "Old Timer" 2 blade knife that belonged to my Grandfather he used to carry it every where. The blades are approximatly 4" blades. I really like the knife more for sentimental reasons and would like to use it for hunting but I don't like that it dosent lock. Can it be changed to a locking blade? Thanks Gilbert

IMO, it would require much more work & /or cost than the knife would ever be worth. Why not use it the way Grandpa used it? The sentimentality makes it a family heirloom of sorts. Most non locking folders aren't designed as stickers & if used as such will close on you.
Apply pressure on the edge, not the point & slice with it.
I have a few from my dad that I use, but wouldn't want to change from the way I remember him using them.
