finished my first knife
«
on:
February 07, 2008, 05:56:00 PM »
I finished my first knife Sunday and finished the sheath yesterday. I couldn't pe prouder! It's made from an old 12" saw blade. I sketched it out and then drew it on the saw blade. I cut it out with a dremal tool,then I clamped it down and hand filed the bevalls. I then sanded it smooth with a sanding disk on my drill. I bufed it with apollishing wheel on the drill. It has wallnut scales. If someone would post pics of it I would try to send them.

Great job - especially for a first attempt. ( pics are too large though, need to be downsized to max. 600 wide or they'll have to delete them - sorry, please don't shoot the messenger
)

I just want'd to say thanks to everyone for the help. I got all the information to build this knife from the gang. My son and I will be giving this knife to my Father inlaw this weekind. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer this last week.

John, the knife looks great and am sure your father in law will appreciate it. Sorry to hear about the cancer. Prayers are sent from Missouri.
