My Zane Davis Neckers
« on: February 17, 2008, 06:37:00 PM »
Gang:

I want to take a moment to post a couple photos of two neckers that one of TG's own, Zane Davis made for me. For scale/perspective, I placed a compass and duck call in the photos as well.

These knives are both 4.5" OAL and come with a nice looking, quality sheath. Because the handles are comfortably thin and the knives are lightweight, they are very comfortable to wear. These are very well made knives, easy to sharpen, and I anticipate will prove to be quite durable.

I wore the necker on the right to the Michigan Bunny Stomp on February 16th where I served as a hound for much of the morning hunt. Busting through the thickest, nastiest  bunny cover imaginable, Zane's necker stayed right in place and was never in the way. Before the hunt, I touched up the blade using a 3-Rivers carbide broadhead/knife sharpener. It only took about a half a dozen stokes through the carbide blades to put a shaving sharp edge on the necker.

I also feel that it should be noted that Zane was a pleasure to work with and delivered what he promised. I have come across very few people his age - or any age for that matter - that are as talented, humble and responsible as he is. He clearly has a special talent and the integrity to do something very special with his talent. (Moderators: If these photos are too large would you please resize them for me?)

Monty, I'm not a sponsor. If you don't mind, please correct that. Thanks, Zane
