who likes case knives
« on: September 04, 2008, 10:06:00 AM »
so far I have
-2 trappers
-1 mini trapper
-1 mini copperlock
-1 slimline trapper
-2 stockmans
-1 pocket hunter
-1 camo lockback
-1 copperhead
-1 muskrat
-1 peanut
-1 seahorse whittler
-1 mid folding hunter
- and just joined the collectors club

I like case knives because they represent a good american made product, I have been collecting them since I was 7, I'm now 17, only carry a couple of them now as most of savings goes to trad archery now, I think case represents trad pocketknives that have been carried for years, anyone else out there collect case knives?

Ian,
Case is one of my favorites. I like the "Sodbuster" series for a tough user.

Here is a link to a relativly new US company that specializes in the old patterns. I thought you might be interested in looking at them. I handle some at the A G Russell Event last month and was really impressed.
  Great Eastern Cutlery

look at the model 235108L on the "new release" page. Man I like this pattern! Notice that it's a liner lock. Lin

i love old cases, i have an ol 3 blade pocket knife that was my great grandpa's until he passed. two blades are literally sharpened to nubs and the master blade is about half as wide as it was new lol. the man would sit and sharpen it with a little wet stone he carried with it until it was like a razor

Ian,
I'm sorry about your Africa trip. I know you would have done well. Keep planning.

I still think Case are near the top for production knives. Lin

I have a small collection of folding hunters. Case has always been one of my favorite pocket knives.
