« on: October 02, 2008, 05:53:00 PM »
Hey guys ,,, new here

Trying to make a indian tomahawk. i already have the rock heads , i just need to know how to attach them.

1. i have wood sticks cut to 20" , do i cut a groove and set the head , then tie with sinew and so on ??

do most tomahawks place the head in a notched handle, that is the kind i am trying to make. what is the best way to cut the notch in the wood handle ??

any help would be great.

Here is one I made. I cheated and used 2 part epoxy to reinforce the head. I then soaked the leather lacing and wrapped around the head

Nice tomahawk

Did u glue the wood top on or cut the hole through the wood ??

I am trying to make a notch that the stone head can fit in, then wrap with rawhide and glue with epoxy, then wrap again with leather.

any advice would be great
