Has anybody ever forge welded a chainsaw chain and made a knife out of it?. And does it make a good blade? Thanks alot -Rod

Yup. I get my chains from a saw shop. They throw them out when they are too worn to be worth re-sharpening. Lots of gunk in those old links so use a lot of flux to help float it out. I tend to get little bad spots in a billet with chainsaw that I don't see with cable.

do a search on u-tube they have vids of guys forge welding chainsaw chains -timing chains
to build knives from
i also believe i read something about it in wayne goddards 50$ knife shop

seen lots of knives forged out of motorcycle chain, chainsaw chain. cable (non galvanized, you'll die) i love the crazy patterns it comes up with
