Big camp knife
« on: December 27, 2008, 01:13:00 PM »
Well been off work a few days and can't seem to stay out of the shop LOL. The big one is made from a old planer blade. Left it as it came out of the quench and temper. Buffed it and this is what I got. The handle is carlo walnut I think. 8" blade 12.5" oal.. The other knife ha s whitetail, antler handle with a 5" blade oal of 8.75". Thanks<><

Nice work Frank, I think that's my favorite knife I've seen from you man! My only gripe (& it's really nothing, just being picky) is the guard dropping below the edge of the blade. If it were level, it'd make food prep on a chopping board a little easier, but as I say, It's just my personal opinion. Other than that mate, it's excellent!

I really like those knives, I like the dark blade on the first one. The way you polish them up but still leave them a little rustic is awesome. In my opinion (not trying to offend Robtattoo, he knows a ton more then I do) I'd cry if I saw that knife prepping veggies.
