Got something in the mail yesterday :)
« on: January 25, 2009, 11:13:00 AM »
Rooster1 talked me into doing a little knife trade during the Holidays.  Well, the mailman left a box from Kevin yesterday, but it was bigger and heavier than I thought it should have been.  Here's what I found when I opened it:

When Kevin asked what kind of knife I wanted I told him I liked surprises, but if he wanted it used everyday something that would work in the kitchen would be great.  These will pull double duty in the kitchen and the camp!

Thank you my friend!

Forgot to mention: check out is new etch!
They were forged from 1/4" stock.  Kevin did a great job on the even distal taper and shallow wedge shaped blade.  I wouldn't want to try slicing shashimi with them, but for general food prep, taking apart and burchering a critter and splitting kindling they'll work out well!  :D

Jeremy Kevins been a busy man as of late. I got two also. I gave one to Shell. Kevin knows if he only sent one Shell would claim it for hers LOL. And me being the Gentleman that I am would let her keep it.  :bigsmyl:    "[dntthnk]"      Great work kevin and congrats Jeremy.<><

Kevin, you didn't mention the steel type in the note.  5160?  1084?

I wasn't expecting to find two knives in that box!  I'll have to break out the wire and inlay chisels and really go to town  :)
