I was wondering were i can buy good quality knife blanks? I`m looking for a longer slender  blade 5-6" with a drop point. I`m kicking around the idea of making one from scratch, but i think i should start with this first. When i web search a lot of crap comes up so i thought i would seek sum advice from you guys ..THANKS

Also take a look at Texas Knife Works and Jantz Supply.

I have used them before. Not bad people to deal with most of the time. Watch their damascus because a lot of it is from India or Pakistan. I buy all my damascus from USA makers.

Ha guys, how about Damascus blanks, i see $ from $30-$180 for a blank. How do you tell if there quality or junk? My father inlaw is retired an i would like to give him a good blank that he can finish him self for his birthday , one he collects knifes an two he loves working wood an three hes looking for something to get in too an stay busy. Is there a golden rule or maker to look for? I`m not apposed to forged either, just want what ever to be special
