Seeking "Leg Vice" Info
« on: April 02, 2009, 07:01:00 PM »
I saw an old "Leg vice", what would be a resonable price for one!

I think it's called a "leg vice" or maybe "anvil buddy"  anyhow a long stout vice that is mounted on a thick post buryed in the ground.

Thanks Steve

A leg vise mounts to a work bench with the leg resting in a hole in the floor providing support to the vise. They are commonly on auction sites for anywhere from $50 to well over a hundred dollars. I use mine a lot. Got it for around $75 including shipping. Make sure it has all the parts and is not bent up too bad. The main thing is the screw needs to be in good shape and the jaws need to be square. The rest can be repaired. Depends how good a deal it is. Lin

Thanks Lin, the price tag is $95.00 I could probably get for a little less.  Thanks for the info!
