Junk stag
« on: April 30, 2009, 09:29:00 AM »
Chuck Bybee supplied me with a piece of "junk stag" to practice on so I would not ruin the high dollar piece I got from him. He is a great guy by the way, and will always try to get you the best piece of material for the need.

Anyway, I had a small 1084 blade laying around the shop that did not come out the way I wanted, so I decided to split the stag piece an put a handle on the junk knife.

Now it did not come out perfect, but for a couple of pieces of "junk" I am pretty happy...

Thanks to Chuck for contributing to my education into natural handles!

the junk thing is kind of tongue in cheek, I forget what the knife was supposed to be, but it was on my bench forever, collecting dust with no purpose in life. Now it is going to be a fathers day gift for a friend.

thanks for all the comments!
