Does anybody got any idea what to do to raw cow bone to get it ready to use as a handle scale?

Make sure it's dry then seal it with a few coats of superglue. Light sand between coats & flow the final coat on. Make sure it's dry between coats.

The 3rd one down is a sun bleached buffalo femur picked up by a friend while trout fishing in Montana.  I filled the voids with 2 part epoxy mixed with ground white pepper(for color match).  Finished with a water based wood floor sealer.  No idea how long it will hold up because I just got these finished up this week but it feels very solid?
