Damascus Sheep horn
« on: August 28, 2009, 02:53:00 PM »
Here is one just finished from Damascus I made of 1084 and 15n20 (352 layers)11 pices folded 4times
It has
4" blade
8.70"OA
416 Stainless guard and spacer
Mosaic pin
Thumb groves on back of spine
1" through the belly
African Blackwood with Mernio Sheep Horn
This really feels good in the hand!
Little about heat treatment~
After folds where done I normalized billet
Then cut piece off billet and forged blade and then thermo cycled and put in vermiculite overnight.Ground blade to 110 and edge Quenched.Put in oven two(one hour) cycles at 375.
Tell me what I could or should take away or add???
Sorry for bad pics can't seem to get the hang of itLOL

Very nice Kevin!  I love it!

I'm working on my first hidden tang knife that I forged at the ABS school.

You inspire me!  Thanks!
