A question for Knappers if you will...

i just received an obsidian blade off of $%&y but man this thing ain't too sharp! in fact I sawed back and forth across the top of my hand trying to see if it would cut but no luck...is there a way to get this thing "Sharper"

Light pressure flaking may sharpen it, but I think that was knapped for aesthetics, not for use. You may ruin its shape trying to get it sharp.

Thanks for the replies, This being my first knapped blade I took it for granted it would be "usable"  ishiwannabe I think your right,  just might be an "art" piece...oh well lesson learned

Yeah it would, but I wanted a knapped blade that I could make a working knife with, not a dust collector..lol
