my first from scratch

Here are a few firsts for me. I've made knives from blade blanks before but this is my first stock removal blade. 1080 stainless that was hardened by a knife making friend. I managed to put a character spot on the blade. The scales are gaboon ebony with stabilized buckeye burl bolsters. It has grey actionwood liners. The handle is finished with satin thunderbird epoxy that I use on my bows. I made the mosaic pins myself. (explains the little gap between the copper grr!) The blade is 1-1/8" at the widest point and 3-1/4" long. The overall length is 7".
This is also my first attempt at leather tooling. Usually I buy dyed leather and just fold it over for my sheaths. On this one I bought veg tanned leather and dyed and stamped it. I'm pretty pleased with it.
Hope you enjoy it, Mike

From the looks of it, it is a great combo of form and function!
