Got a couple of the Spyderco "Mule Team" blanks to play with. They make a handy little knife and they're not too expensive. Not very "traditional" looking but if you just want a quick and easy knife it's easy to slap some scales on these or wrap them with cord.

Are spyderco's available just as blanks or did you fall into a one time deal from an employee or something?

The Mule Team knives from Spyderco aren't really 'blanks' as such, they're just a naked handle, fixed blade knife.
