Bowie by Sticshooter
« on: November 25, 2009, 11:18:00 AM »
A while ago, well, a loooooooooong time ago, I saw pics of a Bowie Frank made. I'm not a "big" knife fan, but that one was sweet. So I asked him to make me one similar that I could put my own handle on. I did tell him I wasn't in a hurry, so he took his time. ( Just raggin you Frank)

About 3 or 4 years ago I cut down an Osage tree from some property I hunted. Being the Osage nut that I am, I saved even the small limbs. They lay in my woodshed and got infested with bugs  :clapper:    :clapper:  .

When Frank said he was about done with the knife I started looking for suitable handle slabs. When I grabbed some of the Osage limbs the bark fell off and this is what I found!

Thank you Bro!!

I still need to do a little clean up and one more coat of Super glue. Then a sheath!

Bro ya done great with that thing I sent ya. I love that handle. The pic with the skull is awesome and should be on a cover of magazine. Not because of the blade but the skull and that handle ....really it is great.<><

Excellent job on both ends. That knife deserves a Shell or Rebecca Parker quill sheath!

Wow! That turned out sweet guys!

Kenny,

You should have left the bugs up under the finish. Never know when you'll get caught out in the wilderness and need some instant  protein...  :bigsmyl:

I'm not normally a big knife guy either, but that is cool!
Most times you see bug tracks like that it is a bad thing.  Nice job making something stunning out of it!
