Knife?

Ok I have had a lot of run of the mill knives and a few nice name brand find them most places knives.  I have a good field dressing knife I carry.  I have some larger mostly drop points I don't carry around anymore.  I want to get something different.  I know there are some knife experts on here so I need some input.

I want a belt knife.  It will be an all around knife, but the main job is skinning and probably quartering and trimming.  Mostly white tails.  It needs to be real sharp and hold a great edge for a long while of course.  

I have a budget and it is not big, but I can afford a good knife.  something with some style, and looks would be good.  

What I would like is your recommendation on what you would have if you only had one knife for this type of use.  Let me know what you think on makers, styles, blade types/shapes, steel type, length, handle type, and any other feature you like in this type of knife.

check on the SWINGBLADE - they are awesome and super sharp.

I bought the Butcher lite too..... the cody caper is perfect for th efine details and it's in the pack.

The swingblade is a nice idea, but I don't want anything with a rectangular handle feel or with a folded blade to grip.  I want a real nice handling knife with a good comfortable handle.  I also have a folding filed dressing knife with a drop point, and a gut blade.  So I don’t need those features.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I plan on it, but first I want to get some input from those with a lot of knives to see what realy is the most desirable in shape, size, and steel.

I've bought four knives from Frank over the past year and a half, and I've been very happy with every one of them. They look great, and handle like an extension of my arm. Last year I used a neck knife from Frank with a blade about 2 1/4" long to dress 2 deer in one day, and it was still sharp enough to shave hair at the end of the day.

With my KME, I get them to a level of sharpness that would impress a surgeon. In fact, I recently visited Ron from KME and showed him my son's Sticshooter knife. Ron was impressed with how sharp my 13 year old son was able to get his knife. A testament to both the sharpener and the knife, considering it was the first time my son really tried to get a knife truly sharp.
