Twisted W2 and Kingwood
« on: December 12, 2009, 01:20:00 PM »
This Take-down Andersen Forge Hunter is 512 layers of twisted W2 and 203E.
It also sports some Bronze for the guard.
I hot blued the blade, and the contrast with this amazing Kingwood is something I really like.
There's a reason for the combo. These materials are the same as the ones used in the customer's recurve bow.
This was my first experience with Kingwood, and I am just truly thrilled with it. It worked and finished well, and luckily, I bought more when I started this project.
Hope everyone is enjoying the Winter!

When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Dan, we need to talk.
You didn't read the text - again!
Right at the beginning it says "Take-down Andersen Forge Hunter."
What are we going to do with you?

Karl,
With such stunning pictures of such beautiful knives, it's hard for some of us to concetrate on mere words.  :notworthy:

Simply beautiful Karl!

The combo reminds me of an old, very finely crafted rifle.

Another beauty, Karl. I really like all your work. You're right, kingwood is nice to work wth and beautiful to boot. I've used it on a few bows and really like it. Mike
