Brute De Potomac Forge
« on: December 14, 2009, 11:08:00 PM »
This is my latest completed project, this one's going to my nephew,   I'm calling it "Brute De Potomac Forge" made from an old worn out Nicholson file with stained curly maple and silver wire inlay. A little "Vine" file work.  CA glue finish. Overall length 8" and 4' blade.

I must have tempered it well cause I'm having a hell of a time sharpening this knife!   I also made the sheath, which I think turned out kind of strange, but I'm starting to like it!

This is the knife that I posted the question "Bound for failure" During the process of straighting the annealed blade it made a matalic "tink" noise and I thought I may have cracked the blade.

This is my first finished knife forged using my Most Excellent Chile Forge!  I learned allot from this project.

Steve,  Absolutely stunning on all counts.  It is obvious that he is your very favorite nephew.
Congrats.

Steve,  really nice,  love the blade shape, the "brute" finish, handle is executed just right... great little knife.

Very nice!  Has a sort of Kukri look to it with the sheath.  Lucky nephew!
