Hey Folks My latest attempt at sumpthin sharp and pointy! 5 3/4" blade 4 1/2 handle made of BlueDirks homemade micarta and white oak.
Ferriers rasp rescued blade.As always critic is welcome and appreciated.

What did you quench it in?

Steve I quinched this one in recycled (USED one mans trash....) synthetic compressor oil
It skated a file really well before tempering.

Looks great. I have a couple of rasps I plan on turning into knives once I get that hobbie started
How is the balance between the blade length and the handle. To my untrained eye, blade looks a tad short, but that might just be the angle of the photo. I have fairly big hands so a large handle to blade ratio will probably be the go for me.

Kevin when I got my buck this year I just went kinda brain dead and my good buddy Don dressed him ! I was way to excited to have a sharp object in my hand! He also told Me to calm down be fore I had a heart attack!
