here's my latest knife and sheath
« on: January 07, 2010, 10:12:00 PM »
I made this litle knife from 1080 bar stock. The cutting edge is 2-3/4" and O.A.L. is 6-1/4". I heated and hammered the fingerguard to give the blade a forged look. Buckeye burl bolsters and gaboon ebony scales. Red glass  liners. Home made mosaic pins and a little file work to top it off. Used one of my new stamps on the sheath and added a rivet. Hope you like it, Mike

Nice Work,  I like the dark handle with the shine on the blade.  They work together.

Thanks all. Bretto, basically they are just different sizes of hollow brass tubing, round and square and stripped copper wire filled with black epoxy. I got the tubing from hobby lobby and hobby time. Found some pieces that fit inside each other and epoxied them together. There is a tutorial on   northcoastknives that explains it better. The hardest part is finding different combinations of tubing and wire that fit snug within each other. Mike
