Couple little hunters
« on: May 02, 2010, 09:58:00 AM »
Thought I might toss these up for viewing. These hunters will be on my table in Atlanta.
I'm surely looking forward to seeing everyone there.
These are both from the same bar of Twist I made from 324 layers of 1084 and 15N20.
416 stainless steel fittings.
The top one has a handle of stabilized Mesquite burl and the bottom one of really premium African Blackwood.
Most AB is pretty straight grained, but I found this one that has grain the I used to follow the butt of the knife.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

I especially like the Mesquite handled hunter,  both are real nice, but that one grabs me a bit more.   I guess part of it is I like a hunter without a dropped choil.

As always, great work.

Consistency leads to success!

Wow, those are both great looking Karl.  The African blackwood looks great with the contrasting stainless.
